Hello and Welcome, a little bit about me, my business and how photography became part of my life.
Two years ago now my Fiancé and myself moved from the Isle of Bute where I had lived for the past 15 years of my life to Shotts, North Lanarkshire. So I was within reasonable travelling distance to Edinburgh where I studied and successfully passed my BA degree in professional photography.
For the past 8 years photography has been my life. I have always had a creative flare, which family and friends noticed in me from a young age. I have always had a love for photography so decided to make the conscious decision 8 years ago to study photography and I have never looked back.
I started my studies in 2009 at Reid Kerr College in Paisley. After my HNC I decided to leave and work in the field for a while, creating my business and finding my style as a photographer. Everything was going great but I wanted to know more and expand my knowledge so last year I applied to do my HND. West College Scotland (Formally Reid Kerr) were only too happy to see me return to finish my studies. I am glad I have approached my career the way I have as I feel I have got the most out of my time studying so far.
My HND year was amazing. I have shot twice at the prestigious London Fashion Week, I was shortlisted in the Cannon photography competition at LFW, I have been published in Vogue.it online twice, been featured in local and national news papers, photographed architecture in Berlin, alongside two very successful exhibitions, and I have planned and shot an editorial fashion shoot in the beautiful Mount Stuart house on Bute – where celebrities Stella McCartney, and JLS member JB Gill tied the knot. I have met so many incredible people who I will never forget. My BA year was a much more challenging year & mainly consisted of developing the skills I already had and pin pointing my strengths and weaknesses. I am happy I can now turn my full attention back to my business and give it the nurture it needs to blossom.
As a photographer my main priority is to make sure my customers have the most enjoyable experience. I cover a range of areas, mainly weddings, newborn & family however I do enjoy working in fashion & commercial. I like to ensure full peace of mind to my customers; I am a BA Degree qualified, fully insured and fully disclosed photographer, competent shooting any style of photography – whether you like traditional, contemporary, documentary or candid. I can also add a little fashion editorial into your wedding images. Or maybe you like to mix things up a bit and have a mixture of styles to add variety to your images. All of this I am happy to accommodate and practice.
If you would like more information on my services or would like to book, please do so via our Contact Us page. I am always happy to help and will do my very best to meet your photography needs. I have worked hard over the past 8 years to deliver high quality photography at affordable rates, but most importantly for my customers to have fun and enjoy their experience with Abbie Rodger Photography.
I look forward to hearing from you.
